IHR Bursaries

About

The IHR Bursaries are offered with the generous support of the IHR British Friends, Professor David Bates and the Estate of the late Alwyn Ruddock.  The bursaries are aimed at enabling early career researchers to undertake research at the IHR and/or at other London-based archives, or participate in activities that will support their research.

Eligibility

Applicants must be registered at a university in the UK at the time of their application.The bursaries are intended for students who are not registered at London-based institutions and who do not live within Greater London.All successful applicants will be expected to use the IHR as a base when in London and to participate in its activities: for example, regular use of the IHR library and attendance at IHR seminars and conferences.It could also mean interaction with one or more of the IHR's research centres, and if appropriate, taking a research training course.All successful applicants will be encouraged to make contact with the History Lab, the Institute's postgraduate network.

What the Bursary covers

Bursaries will normally be for travel, accommodation and/or research expenses relating to a research trip to London.
